Edinburgh Printmakers is one of the largest printmaking spaces in Europe. Established in 1967 as the first open-access studio in Britain, our mission is to create and support artistic excellence in the medium of print through inspiration, education, innovation and facilitation. We work at the cutting edge of contemporary visual art, producing critically acclaimed and engaging artwork that is key to the cultural life of Scotland.
In 2019 Edinburgh Printmakers relocated to the Fountainbridge area of the city. Our building, Castle Mills, formerly home to North British Rubber Company was once part of a thriving industrial community in Edinburgh. Since the move to this award-winning redeveloped building, Edinburgh Printmakers has cemented its reputation as the home of one of the UK’s leading contemporary art spaces. Housing a 1000sqm print studio and hosting year-round programme of exhibitions and associated events Edinburgh Printmakers showcase the work of leading international and Scottish artists.
