Fully Awake is a cycle of exhibitions curated by Ian Hartshorne (Manchester School of Art) and Sean Kaye (British Higher School of Art and Design, Moscow) for the organisation Teaching Painting.

Fully Awake embraces an inter-generational approach to celebrating the practice and teaching of painting. The curators have invited 13 artists to submit a piece of work to be included the exhibition. Each of the invited artists currently teaches at one of the UK’s art academies. In addition to submitting a piece of work, each artist is asked to invite two ‘guests’ (each of whom will also submit work for exhibition) with the following conditions:

·       One must be an artist that they have been taught by.

·       One must be an artist that they have taught.
