This exhibition of children’s artwork celebrates the partnership between Edinburgh Libraries and Edinburgh Art Festival. Over the summer holidays the Edinburgh Art Festival ran weekly creative making sessions for ages 8-13, inspired by the public commissions programme theme ‘The Making of the Future: Now’.
Each session looked at a different EAF artist and included arts activities such as; building a miniature bothy inspired by artist Bobby Niven; designing your own future city after artist Toby Paterson, making miniature gardens referencing the work of Patrick Geddes and his Geddes gardens; and creating model dragons to defeat Walker and Bromwich’s The Dragon of Profit and Private Ownership.
This exhibition includes a snapshot of some of the work made in these workshops. You can still catch the artworks that inspired them as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival until 27 August.
