Elizabeth Blackadder: A Life in Colour

A Life in Colour celebrates the enduring relationship between Scottish painter Elizabeth Blackadder and Dovecot Studios with a display of co-created textile works.

Over a five-decade creative partnership, the textiles studio produced over 30 tapestries and hand-tufted rugs which translated the artist’s distinctive visual language into richly textured forms. The exhibition highlights the vitality of Blackadder’s palette and its common language across different mediums. The exhibition will also feature a display of Dovecot’s newest tufted rug, created after Blackadder’s work.

Presented in partnership with The Royal Scottish Academy. Exhibition forms part of RSA200: Celebrating Together.
