Join EAF for a riso workshop to create a collective 2027 calendar. Combine shapes, type, patterns and collaged print to create one month page of your own calendar, adding month markers, fun headers, and important dates.
By cutting and assembling elements, we will create designs that translate beautifully to riso prints when scanned. All materials are included, with print to cut up and arrange, pens and pencils, and calendar templates, but feel free to bring whatever you like.
Led by EAF Civic Curator Elle Haswell, all collaged pages will then be replicated, scanned and printed in our range of riso colours, to make enough to share. Everyone will be able to take home a full calendar made by the group — with one month created by each person.
About Risograph Printing
Risograph printing is a stencil-based digital printing method that creates textured, single-colour prints. Originally designed to mass-produce print materials for offices, schools, and political parties, the printing method has become beloved by artists for its tactility and vibrant colours.
The riso printer is roughly the size and shape of an office copying machine, with multiple drums of ink inside. Each print creates a ‘master’, a stencil shaped like the artwork, that lays on top of a single-coloured ink drum. Every time you print, ink is pushed through the stencil onto the paper, making it easy to make lots of copies.
