Stills hosts a conversation with photographer Jillian Edelstein and curator Tracy Marshall-Grant, presented alongside Jillian Edelstein: Among People, the first major survey exhibition of Edelstein’s work. Curated by Marshall-Grant, the exhibition brings together photographs spanning more than four decades, tracing Edelstein’s distinctive approach to documenting people and communities across the world.

This event offers a closer view into the exhibition, as Edelstein reflects on her career, from her early work in South Africa to her internationally recognised practice in London, and shares insight into how she approaches photographing people, relationships and everyday life.

The event also includes a screening of Edelstein’s documentary The Water Rats (2022), a quietly observed and deeply touching film following swimmers at Hampstead Heath during lockdown, capturing how a temporary community formed through shared experience, connection, and resilience.
